A blank pot, an idea, and a paintbrush
Malka Creations began with a simple idea: what if a plant pot could tell a story? In our small workshop in Homagama, we started experimenting — painting ordinary terracotta pots with bold colours, adding textures, layering patterns inspired by Sri Lanka's art and nature.
What started as a weekend hobby quickly grew into something more. Friends wanted one. Then their friends. Before we knew it, we were pouring our evenings and weekends into an ever-growing collection of hand-decorated pots, paired with carefully nurtured plants.
Today, Malka Creations is still a family affair. We source our pots locally, grow many of our plants in our own nursery, and hand-finish every single piece ourselves. No factories, no mass production — just hands, paintbrushes, and a lot of love.
We'd rather make ten beautiful pots a week than a hundred forgettable ones.
